The Experience
The experience begins at Sevastiana village square, beneath the impressive Plane Tree of Sevastiana — a natural monument with a history of more than 1,600 years. From there, the route follows a natural hiking trail towards the Kainaki Springs, a peaceful area with running waters and rich vegetation. The trail continues through forest landscapes and open viewpoints overlooking the plain of Pella, Edessa, Mount Voras and Mount Vermio. Along the route, participants discover locations connected to the local history of the area, including the “Kanoni” point, where traces from the World War II period still remain. One of the highlights of the experience is the “Simaia” viewpoint, where the landscape opens into a panoramic 360-degree view across the wider region. The experience continues through forest roads leading to the old hunters’ shelter, where participants enjoy a relaxed stop with local tsipouro and traditional meze in an authentic mountain atmosphere. Throughout the route, the experience is enriched with storytelling and local interpretation connected to the history, nature and identity of the area.
The Route
The experience starts from Sevastiana village square and follows a circular hiking route through natural trails, forest roads and scenic viewpoints. The path combines shaded forest sections with open panoramic passages and relaxed walking pace, suitable for small groups and nature-oriented travelers. After the stop at the hunters’ shelter, the return follows the “Karagatsia” forest road, surrounded by plane and oak trees, completing a circular nature and history experience.

The Experience
The experience begins from Edessa and heads towards the mountain area of Pinovo / Kaimaktsalan, a region shaped both by natural beauty and historical memory. The first stop takes place at Aetochori village, where participants are introduced to traces and stories connected to World War I and the Battle of Skra. The route continues to the Skra Battle Museum, where historical material, photographs and exhibits reveal one of the most important battles of modern Greek military history. The natural highlight of the day is the Blue Lake of Skra. A short and easy walking route through the forest leads to a hidden landscape of waterfalls, turquoise waters and dense vegetation. There is time to relax, take photos and — weather permitting — enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake. Throughout the experience, the route is enriched with storytelling and local interpretation connected to the landscape, history and identity of the region.
The Route
The experience starts from Edessa and continues by minivan towards the mountainous area of Skra and Aetochori. After the historical stops and museum visit, the experience continues with a short hiking route leading to the Blue Lake of Skra. The walking section is easy and accessible, following a forest path towards the waterfalls and the lake area. After free time at the lake, the group returns to Edessa in the afternoon. The pace of the experience is relaxed, allowing time for exploration, storytelling, photos and rest stops throughout the day.
